A look at MPC policy since its inception, following the Bank’s granting of independence with the Bank of England Act of 1998 (attached). Two clear policy errors are discussed, which have had important and long lasting economic consequences. However, for investors, the question is whether further errors will be made in the future.


An analysis of the MPC’s current inflation forecasts reveal something odd in its expectations, which is very much at odds with other macro indicators.


This will have important implications on Monetary Policy and asset valuations.
